Ken Woodhouse, in his flashy Sonny Shores persona, made his debut as Friday-and-Saturday-late-night singing bartender, in the 'Cozy Lounge,' at Top of the Bay restaurant, on June 27. During the time I was there, Sonny sang “Danke Schön,” “The Summer Wind,” “I’m gonna live until I die,” Kander & Ebb’s “New York, New York,” Cole Porter's “Night and Day,” “Sweet Transvestite” from "Rocky Horror," and “I Will Survive,” all while mixing drinks. At Sonny’s request, this writer put in a cameo appearance, singing Bert Kampfert and Milt Gabler’s “L-O-V-E.”
