Singer Sherry Vine returned to the Ice Palace for two shows, the first of them on June 15, with DJ Chuck McTague assisting, and included much new material.
Working a boa, Sherry opened with “Welcome to Burlesque,” doing part of it as Cher. She defied age singing, “(Bitch, you’re) Old,” her tongue-in-cheek version of Madonna’s “Vogue.” She also had her very Sherry answer to Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” at the ready (“There’s a fire burning in my crack … /of course, I took it all/’cause my hole’s so deep”) and closed her first set by addressing the notorious app for meeting guys in “Grinder Queen,” set to ABBA’s “Dancing Queen.”
We had a Logan Hardcore interlude, with Logan, in green wig to match green eye shadow, hanging from the rafters and doing splits, and interspersing “We Are Family” and “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” with dialogue from “Mommie Dearest” and “Precious.”
Sherry returned with “Bang Bang” as “Gang Bang” and, in a Nicki Minaj parody, paid homage to hunky actor Joe Manganiello (“True Blood”), her obsession, singing “I’m done with twinks … I’m in love with a stud.” She summed up a bisexual threesome, in which she participated, by singing, in place of “I’m your Venus,” “I love penis/and vagina.” She dedicated a song to uncut men, another of her preoccupations (“Your cock stinks”), and closed by singing JLo’s “On the Floor” as “You’re a Whore.”
