Consummate party giver and impresario Daniel Nardicio kicked off the weekend of June 15, LGBT Pride Weekend in Cherry Grove, with an Underwear Party, with music by DJ Chuck McTague, that was packed with wall-to-wall partygoers, from the Grove and the Pines, and with the phenomenal advance sale, on line, of tickets for Alan Cumming, special guest Liza Minnelli, and Music Director Lance Horne, on August 4 at 8 p.m. On June 16, Daniel presented a show by Bridget Everett and Peaches. All events took place at the Ice Palace at the Grove Hotel.
Daniel’s Saturday night Icon Series also features performances by Justin Vivian Bond, on July 7; Meow Meow, on July 14; Jill Sobule, on July 28; and Sandra Bernhardt and Lea Delaria, on August 18. On August 19, expect Margaret Cho and Narcissister. Visit www.dworld.us for tickets and information.
As for the much-anticipated show by Liza Minnelli and Alan Cumming, a portion of the proceeds will go to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. VIP tickets are reserved and numbered, and general seating will be first come, first served, at 6:30 p.m., on August 4. Standing room will also be available, with standees to be admitted at 7:45 p.m. Semi-obstructed view tickets, outside on the Ice Palace deck, will also be available for this special event.
