Singer Epiphany, of the Haus of Get Paid, brought some of her equally talented friends with her, to the Ice Palace, for a late show, on June 12, billed as the “Haus of Get Paid Drag Revue.” Richard Kennedy served as DJ.
All blonde and pink and glittery, Epiphany, with her voice shining as well, sang us “Rumor Has It,” Adele’s song, and followed it with a sort of love-hate number—“I’ve seen you driving ’round with the girl I love/well, fuck you/and fuck her, too!”
Flashy Yuhua Hamasaki, the reigning Miss Stonewall, told us, in an energetic rap and song, that “Starships were meant to fly” and punctuated “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” with a split.
Maddeylnn Hatter assured us that “She can fuck you good/but I can fuck you better” and, in her second number, stripped to her underwear.
Ebonee Excell paid tribute to Whitney Houston with “I’m every woman,” “It’s not right, but it’s okay,” and “I will always love you,” complete with a split, and brought the house—haus?—down doing “Proud Mary” as Tina Turner.
Epiphany closed by examining values as she sang, “I’ll give you stars and the moon.”
