Cherry’s celebrated Halloween on October 1, with its ever popular masquerade party, organized by Mark LeMay—disguised as a gargoyle—and Kevin Hammond, with Susan Levine as DJ.
Dale Lally came as a gypsy. Cherry’s co-owner Donna Bianco came as a police officer, a real stretch. David Auxier and a number of others came as leathermen. Jumping Jack’s Anthony was a king. Belvedere’s Craig and Julian came as plus-size women. Mike Salinari and Rich Parisi made a pair of beautiful babies; Renée Flaming was the very devil—as were Stella, Phil, and Cherry Lane’s Mark; Sabel Scities was a fierce-looking geisha; and Tommy was Jesus Himself.
Petra Brehl and Mark Atten headed a pack of savages, wielding dangerous weapons. A “Star Wars” group included Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and several Jedi knights. China, Bella and Demi-Tasse came as their glamorous selves.
Gilbert Baker was a jungle cat. Alex from the Pines was Pinocchio. Dennis and housemate Steve Sebor were Caesar and Cleopatra. Top of the Bay’s Roque came in search of a ménage à trois, Joe was a leprechaun, and Steve gave us elegance.
There were also an assortment of angels to go with the devils, bare-chested musclemen, and a bunny rabbit.
Beach DeBree and YaNeeda Dunes, Steve Menendez, Martha Lorenzo, Wendy Lewis, Johnny Doyle, and Kenny Braun were among the others spotted.
