Daniel Nardicio and the Ice Palace observed the French national holiday a day later with a Bastille Day Celebration underwear party on July 15. World Famous Bob and Dirty Martini added a touch of glamour. Mstickle, with balletic grace, did a striptease involving white feather fans, which then became her wings. Gender-bending trio Backspace did a wild dance to Lady Gaga’s song “Scheisse.” DJ Chuck McTague provided the music.

Later, beside the pool, Julie Atlas Muz toyed with a huge clear bubble, inserted herself into it, and hurled herself into the pool inside her latex sphere, and popped it.

The following night, at “Filthy Gorgeous: a Burlesque & Drag Extravaganza,” hosted by Miss Sweetie and ‘Weimar Fraulein’ Miss Astrid, with Johnny Dynell as DJ, Bob opened the show with an elemental striptease to the cosmic strains that open Richard Strauss’ “Also Sprach Zarathustra.”

Julie’s interpretation of “I Put a Spell on You” found her beset by an independent, rebellious hand, which stripped, attacked, molested, and ultimately killed her. Mstickle repeated her number from the previous night and Sweetie dubbed her “the white swan.” Dancing in a banana skirt, the Maine Attraction evoked the spirit of Josephine Baker.

Miss Sweetie lamented “Don’t remind me that you’re not the lovin’ kind” and “I keep dancing on my own,” and Miss Astrid sang of her affection for Semitic people (“You’re all I ever wanted”). And Mr. Pussy, lipsynching to “This Land Is Your Land,” was brought to life by Julie, manipulating pubic hair and nether labia.

Mstickle stripped off an elegant gown to reveal a latex bodysuit beneath, before stripping down to her own skin, and concluding by writing “for sale,” in lipstick, on her abdomen. Two members of Backspace were on hand for another offbeat performance. And for a dynamic finale, Dirty Martini stripped off her glittery purple gown and fringed blue gloves, while making good use of a purple, pink and white feather boa and, finally, twirling her tassels.
