The popular series of Wednesday night Show Tune Sing-A-Longs, introduced last season and hosted by entertainer Jason Cozmo and pianist Daniel Lincoln, returned to the Cherry Lane Café on June 8 and I caught up with the second one, on the 15th, the night of the full moon.
In addition to the rousing group efforts, Jason offered several Liza Minnelli numbers, beginning with “Ring Them Bells,” and we also heard from bartender Adam Carman, serenading Joey Ooofaaa with “Can’t Help Lovin’ That Man of Mine;” Lauren Order, singing Sarah’s wrenching song from “Ragtime,” first sung by Audra McDonald; Jody Cole Wood, Daniel’s partner; Cherry’s own Dan Schlageter; and Andrew from Marie’s Crisis; not to mention yours truly. Visitors from the Pines were present, including DJ Lina Bradford and Hal Hayes.
