Born in Providence, Rhode Island on July 26, 1949, John Scoullar, life partner of Bradshaw Smith, resident of New York City and Cherry Grove, singer and actor, and, under the name Rose E., baker of delicious desserts, passed away on March 25. The cause was cancer. According to Bradshaw, John’s ashes will be spread at the beach this summer.

John had appeared on Broadway, with Andrews Sisters Maxine and Patty, in the musical “Over Here!” “God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater” and “King of Hearts” were also in his credits, as were a stage adaptation, which he wrote with Rick Cummins, of Antoine de St. Exupéry’s “The Little Prince,” and a recording of “Two If By Sea.”
