Jumping Jack's Seafood Jack, the oceanfront restaurant, closed abruptly early in September, reportedly due to disputes over ownership, which, according to one source, are expected to be settledby January.
One regular dinnertime feature at Jack's was pianist Dan Daly playing and leading sing-alongs and, with the restaurant's closing, Dan was immediately invited to play at the Cherry Lane Café and the Island Breeze. Dan played at the former on September 9 and 10 and attracted a sizeable crowd that included, on the latter date, actor John Glover, singer Shirley Ritenour, and Robbyne Kaamil, of Howard Stern Show fame. Dan played at Island Breeze during the subsequent weekend and was slated to return to Cherry Lane the following week.
