The Arts Project of Cherry Grove's (APCG) annual Art Show at the Community House was billed, this year, as the "Peep Show" Art Show and was held on July 24 and 25. Homecoming Queen Beach DeBree, assisted by John Sorensen, cut the ribbon to open the show officially and later awarded the Queen's Choice ribbon to Andrew Loren Resto's painting of a green parrot, entitled La Cage aux Follies Vertes: "Don't call me Polly!" APCG President Michael Coffindaffer's selection for the President's Choice ribbon was oil painting "Mt. in Cloud," by W. Douglas Topper, new to the Grove and to the Art Show, and finding inspiration for his work in National Geographic.
John Burke AKA Sybil Bruncheon exhibited his pottery, which was admired by visiting openly gay Congressman from Massachusetts Barney Frank and his partner, to whom John presented one of the pieces.
Cathy Eckdahl; John Mansueto; Larry Crawford from Texas; Louis Nelson; and Dennis McConkey, executing his work at the exhibit table, were among the other painters displaying their work. Lorraine Michels, Sherri Rase, Warren Boyd Wexler, Marilyn Jaeckel, and Patrick Rinn were some of the photographers. Dr. Patrick Frattelone showed his needlepoint creations, including anatomically suggestive stuffed monkeys. Phil Stoehr displayed jewelry that he made, and Michael Fitzgerald, his collages.
