David Rubin, age 48, life partner of Tony Cortez, passed away in Cherry Grove on June 4. Friends of the deceased and other witnesses reported to Q News that David Rubin had felt ill before boarding the ferry in Sayville, late that afternoon, but proceeded to the Grove, where, shortly after disembarking, he lost consciousness and was brought to downtown Cherry Grove. CPR, administered by a trained nurse, and defibrillation, by members of the Cherry Grove Fire Department, failed to revive him and Q News sources attributed his death to natural causes. Our condolences go to Tony Cortez and to close friends of David Rubin.
