Into the Pines Kitchen contains 200 recipes from 100 contributors, including Pines notables Scott Bromley, Gilbert Parker, and Hal Rubinstein. As a nod to bygone days, the book also features a posthumous contribution from John Whyte, one of the Pines' founders. The book includes original photography of the island from Pines artists William Karam, Mark Lonsbury, and Barbara Sahlman. •More About this Book»

Acid Betty, Matthew & Epiphany ........................................................................................................................................................................................
On August 19, singer Epiphany and celebrity impressionist Jason Cozmo and their guests assured that there was entertainment aplenty for the Cherry Grove audience.
At the Ice Palace, Epiphany, in Marilyn Monroe mode, bejeweled and elegant in pink and black, and assisted by DJ Randy Baker, gave us a rousing opening, singing Amy Winehouse song "Valerie," which she told us was code for drug dealer, and evoking Marilyn, sang a seductive "I Wanna Be Loved By You," while peeling down to short black dress-and red hair with a streak of blue. She brought down the house with "I put on some makeup," from "Hedwig and the Angry Inch;" further seduced us with "Sooner or Later," which Stephen Sondheim wrote for Madonna to sing in the film "Dick Tracy;" and proceeded to a romantic "At Last." Epiphany took us to the country with "Black Velvet" and, with her guest, Acid Betty, serenaded Matthew, from London, with "I like you," a sweet and raunchy duet, complete with balletic choreography.
Colorful Acid Betty's other offerings were "Ain't no other man but you" and "Private Dancer."
At Cherry's, Jason Cozmo, assisted by DJ Manny, gave us the Louise Brooks flapper look for "All that Jazz," from "Chicago," and, becoming Audrey, in leopard skin, on Skid Row, from "Little Shop of Horrors," longed for escape to "Somewhere That's Green." Jason held auditions for a Seymour to join in duet "Suddenly Seymour" and the winner was Russell, from Australia.
Jason's guests were Hazel Nutt, doing Celine Dion numbers, including "River Deep, Mountain High," "It's All Coming Back to Me," and "My Heart Will Go On and On," and Diana Duvet and Shenida Husband, wondering, "Do I look like a slut?" Shenida's solo, as a sweet Tracy Turnblad, was "I can hear the bells" and Diana celebrated a 21st birthday with a Pussycat Dolls song ("When I grow up, I want to be famous").
