Numerous members of the community turned out to help Bella and Demi-Tasse celebrate their "130 years of birthdays," i.e. each one's 65th, with a gala party on August 16 at Cherry's. Bella and Demi entertained us with "Sisters" and were serenaded by Frank Burdi ("I can't smile without you"), Demi's partner, who hailed Bella as "flamboyant and slightly evil at times-she is a trickster" and Demi, with whom he will mark a 25th anniversary on September 23, for her "loving heart, with always a smile."
Dan Schlageter sang "The summer wind" and "Fly me to the moon." Ariel Sinclair offered a raucous number and Martina Skyy, an energetic country number. Isabella Rossellini, a personal friend of Demi's, was among the many guests.
Food was from Cherry Lane Café and Cherry Grove Pizza.
