Broadway's Tituss Burgess, currently Nicely-Nicely Johnson in "Guys and Dolls" and previously Sebastian the Crab in "The Little Mermaid," was the winning headliner at the August 3 edition of singer Brandon Cutrell and pianist Ray Fellman's "Broadway at the Beach" at the Ice Palace. Tituss' songs with Ray were Chicago's "Saturday in the park (I think it was the Fourth of July)" and "(It's) Easy as life," Aida's song from Elton John's "Aida." The singer himself was at the piano for his individual, quietly melancholy take on Kelly Clarkson's "Since you been gone" and for a short medley from "Little Mermaid."
Brandon and Ray's other guests were Melissa Driscol, Adam Chandler, Robin Rothman, Ariel Sinclair, Logan Hardcore and Jason Cozmo.
Shequida's show, with DJ Chuck, which followed, began with the singer doing a Lady Gaga medley and, always full of surprises, ended with her "Porgi amor," Countess Almaviva's aria from Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro," "Adieu, notre petite table," the heroine's aria from Massenet's "Manon," and "Nessun dorma," Calaf's aria from Puccini's "Turandot," all sung most beautifully in her Juilliard-trained soprano.
