House located at 232 Bay Walk, Fire Island Pines

Fire completely consumed a house on Bay Walk in Fire Island Pines on the night of January 13, although the house's swimming pool remained unharmed, Craig L. Williams, of the Cherry Grove Fire Department, reported to FIQN.
Houses on either side of the one where fire broke out suffered some damage, but were, by and large, saved.
Craig added, "Fire Departments responding to the Pines fire on Tuesday were [from] Fire Island Pines, Cherry Grove, Point of Woods, Ocean Bay Park, Ocean Beach, Bayport and Sayville. Four people were able to respond from the Grove Fire Department: Bobby [Lerch], Fran [Reinhardt] and Caroline & Clyde Oakley. They were exceptional."
