| Arts Project Ends Season with Gala "Pirates" Ball |

The Arts Project of Cherry Grove (APCG) concluded its season, on September 29, at the Community House, with a gala ball, produced by in-coming APCG President Michael Coffindaffer AKA Coco Love and board member Curtis Strohl, on the theme "Pirates of Cherry Grove at World's End," which inspired no end of swashbuckling costume creations. The evening included a scrumptious buffet dinner, prepared by Furci Fine Food & Catering, in Bayport, Long Island, and Andy Porzio and Ann Scarpa tended the open bar.

Announcing that, "This is my last event as President. These are my last moments of being on the board," departing head of APCG, Ceejay Rosen, thanked her "inamorata, wonderful Peg" Ryan; the APCG Board; the technical people for the events; Harold Seeley for designing the "pirate nightclub" setting, complete with pirate ship; and DJ George Marchelos. Ceejay advised that community service awards were going to Matt Baney, Jeffrey "Gefil Tefish" Wallach, and Phil "Philomena" Stoehr.
Bella served as Mistress of Ceremonies for a short show--consisting of Homecoming Queen Lola Galore's sexy number, "Right now," and the "Jungle Boogie," performed by Margot as a colorful parrot in an elaborate costume, complete with orange platform heels, introduced by Bella as "an accident waiting to happen"--and for a costume contest, won by a "Peter Pan" group-made up of Richard Cooley as Peter, Lola as Tinkerbell, James as Captain Hook, Margot as the parrot, and, as the Darling family, Coco as Wendy, Jack as John, and Cobra as Mrs. Darling--with Linda Dickerman and Barbara Hirsch, in baseball uniforms, as Pittsburgh Pirates, receiving honorable mention. The "Peter Pan" group donated its $500 prize back to APCG and Joseph Saporito, who won the 50-50 raffle, donated $150 of his $250 prize to the organization.
