Liza AKA Kristy Kreme Wins Costume Contest at Ice Palace Halloween Party

For an exuberant final weekend event, on October 7, the Ice Palace held its annual Halloween party, with scary seasonal décor by Mark LeMay (behind the bar as a sexy Pan) and Kevin Hammond, and the evening’s centerpiece was a lively costume contest hosted by Ariel Sinclair and Gusty Winds, in pirate costume. In a gathering that boasted show biz personalities, angels and devils, nuns and ghouls, cowboys and leathermen (“Midnight,” in harness, hood, & jock, proved particularly photogenic), the contest winners were Liza as waitress Kristy Kreme, coming away with the $150 top prize; the scarecrow, placing second and winning $75; and showgirl Viva Las Vegas, netting the $50 third prize and a bottle of rum. “Don’t mess around with me,” warned Ariel and Gusty, in their number before the competition. Loathsome Gassy Winds, Gusty’s scabrous “unacknowledged sister,” put in a cameo appearance. A show by singer Porsche was slated for later in the evening.
